Fr. Kevin Mueller

Pastor

Father Kevin attended Loyola Blakefield, Towson for High School and graduated in 1978. He attended Towson [State] University and entered Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg in 1986.  Completing his studies, he was ordained a priest in the

Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1992.  He spent five years as an associate pastor of St. Joseph, Cockeysville, and four years at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Essex.  From 2001 until 2005, Father Mueller served at the Monsignor O’Dwyer Retreat House in Sparks.  In 2006, he spent six months as the temporary administrator of St. John, Westminster.  In 2006 through 2008, he was the pastor of St. Mary, Hagerstown.  In 2008 he was appointed pastor of the Church of the Holy Apostles in Gambrills. From 2010 to 2022 he was Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Middle River.  And, finally, on July 1, 2022 Father was assigned to our Pastorate of Our Lady of Hope/St. Luke!  We couldn’t be happier!

Fr. Rob Katafiasz

Associate Pastor

Father Rob Katafiasz (pronounced Cat-uh-FÄ«-ez), a Pasadena MD native–followed a tech-prep track through Northeast High School, and then Anne Arundel Community College. Before seriously discerning the priesthood, he worked as an industrial cleaner for five years, which left him time for little else, with a work schedule that required him to be on call 24/7.  He would later become the maintenance man of his home parish, St. Jane Frances de Chantal in Pasadena, which afforded him more time to begin seriously exploring religious orders.

Father Rob went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Mount St. Mary’s University and a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. He had the privilege of completing his Pastoral years at St. Mark of Fallston and St. Louis in Clarksville and went on to serve as a transitional deacon for six months at our own OLPH. His most recent assignment was at the Pastorate of Christ the King & St. Bernadette Parishes, (with Father Austin).

Deacon Helgi_edited.jpg

Helgi Nelson, Sr.

Deacon

I am very excited to be able to minister in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Thanks to Archbishop William E. Lori for granting me the faculties to function as a deacon in my old hometown of Dundalk.  I was ordained as a deacon for the Diocese of Wheeling/Charleston in May of 2016.  I served the St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Berkeley Springs, WV for more than four years.  My wife Karen and I were very active with the WV Knights of Columbus and facilitated the annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Run each year since 2009.

Karen and I now return to the Dundalk area to be closer to our children and grandchildren.  I was raised in the Our Lady of Hope Parish and we were married there by Father Michael Roach in 1977.  Karen and I moved to WV in 2001 and now we are back.

Karen and I are looking forward to many years serving the people of our new pastorate and surrounding community.
