"The next day John was there again with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, 'Behold, the Lamb of God.' The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, 'What are you looking for?' They said to him, 'Rabbi' (which translated means Teacher), 'where are you staying?' He said to them, 'Come, and you will see.' So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day" (John 1:35-39)

BECOMING CATHOLIC - Adults and Children between 7 and 14

Come and See...

For centuries since those days in the First Century, men and women from all walks of life have taken notice of Jesus and His teachings and followed after Him. Discipleship means walking the way of Jesus and sharing His saving love and message with others. At some point, we have all had the blessing of encountering Jesus and responding to His call to deepen our relationship with Him. His invitation to "come and see" is still fresh and joyous for those who are listening for His voice.

The "Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults" (or "RCIA") and the "Rite Of Christian Initiation Adapted for Children" (or RCIC) is the process through with men and women are invited and welcomed into the Catholic Church. People become Catholic for various reasons: perhaps you have fallen in love with a Catholic; maybe you are raising your children Catholic, and their questions have stirred a longing in your own heart, or perhaps you have simply joined us a few times for worship and had found a comfortable home. Whatever the reason, you are welcome! Every decision to follow Jesus, however, starts with an authentic encounter with the Lord and His invitation to follow him.

Our program of RCIA is called "Come and See," after our Lord's invitation. Our knowledgeable team of disciples is ready to journey with you through this beautiful path of faith and decision. Each week, we gather as a small community of faith, and we pray, discuss and share aspects of the Catholic faith with those who, like you, are following Jesus' invitation to know Him better. Gatherings take place on Thursday evenings, from 6:30 to 7:45 pm, at our St. Luke campus. The program runs from mid-October to a few weeks past Easter, and those who decide to fully enter into the Catholic Church are joyfully and formally received at the Easter Vigil (the night before Easter).
